Alice Hough is a western shaman who helps people fulfill their deep desire to make a difference in the world.
After working many years in information technology, Alice felt a profound dissatisfaction with her life, as if there had to be more to it than she had found so far. Longing to make a greater difference in the world, she left the computer industry and set out on a journey of self-discovery and deep learning.
In the course of her journey, Alice found herself called strongly by the shaman’s path. After reading Shaman, Healer, Sage by Dr. Alberto Villoldo, Alice was drawn to complete four intensive years of study at Dr. Villoldo’s Light Body School. She also traveled to Peru to learn directly from the indigenous Q’ero shamans of the Andes, and was initiated into their ancient lineage.
In her healing practice, Alice helps people let go of old hurts and baggage that may be holding them back from creating a life that is truly fulfilling. The result is they can live their lives with greater courage, joy, and passion. By working with the energetic body that surrounds the physical body, Alice gently deactivates and removes the ‘buttons’ that trigger old, unwanted behaviors and emotional reactions. This new state of being is then anchored at the level of the soul, and a key is created that allows the person to access it at will.
In addition to working with individuals, Alice teaches classes and workshops, sharing shamanic teachings, and assisting participants in ‘shedding their old skin’ so they can see the world through new eyes.
Alice is an ordained minister and a certified instructor for the Dying Consciously Project (www.dyingconsciously.org). She lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband, one dog, and three cats.
